Secretary Blinken’s Call with Republic of Korea Foreign Minister Cho

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with Republic of Korea Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul today.  Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Cho emphasized the ironclad U.S.-ROK Alliance and the importance of close bilateral cooperation on global issues.  Foreign Minister Cho shared insights from his recent travel to the People’s Republic of China.  Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Cho also discussed cooperation on security challenges, including increasingly hostile rhetoric and destabilizing actions by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.  Both sides affirmed the pivotal role of the U.S.-ROK Alliance in promoting peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
