U.S.-Morocco Africa Working Group – United States Department of State

The Department of State hosted the U.S.-Morocco Africa Working Group in Washington yesterday, chaired by Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jonathan Pratt, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Joshua Harris, and Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General Ambassador Fouad Yazourh. Ambassador Yazourh led a delegation of senior officials from the Moroccan ministries of foreign affairs, defense, interior, security, investments, and the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation.

Senior U.S. officials from Department of Commerce, Department of Defense, International Development Finance Corporation, USAID, and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative also participated. Officials consulted on mutual efforts across the African continent to promote regional stability and security, expand trade and economic ties, and strengthen governance and development partnerships.
