U.S. Department of State Hosts Foreign Diplomatic Officials for “Experience Florida 2023”

The U.S. Department of State’s Office of Foreign Missions and Diplomatic Security Service, in partnership with Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa, and the Consular Corps of Miami, Orlando, and Tampa will host consular officials from over 30 foreign consular missions for a four-day experience beginning May 16, 2023 with opening ceremonies hosted by the Tampa Airport.

Experience Florida 2023 is aimed at fostering connections with the state to assist foreign missions in delivering enhanced support to their citizens living in or visiting Florida.  The conference will bring together representatives from the U.S. Department of State, the foreign missions, state and local governments, and the private sector for an experience aimed at strengthening economic, commercial, scientific, and cultural relations between the countries they represent and Florida.

This is the fourth year that the Office of Foreign Missions, the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, and a participating Florida county have collaborated to convene local government, the Consular Corps, and trade communities. This year’s theme is “Balancing Security and Exploring Economic Growth in a Changing World”.
