U.S. and Japan Promote Economic Resilience and the Rules-Based Economic Order at Third Economic Policy Consultative Committee Vice-Ministerial

Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Jose W. Fernandez and Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Marisa Lago met with Japanese Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Ono Keiichi and Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Vice Minister for International Affairs Hosaka Shin on the occasion of the third Vice-Ministerial meeting of the U.S.-Japan Economic Policy Consultative Committee (EPCC). They discussed ongoing and future actions to strengthen the rules-based economic order in the Indo-Pacific region. The United States and Japan continue to advance policies and programs through the EPCC to enhance economic and supply chain resilience, including energy security and critical minerals supply chains, as well as the promotion and protection of critical and emerging technologies.
