Secretary Blinken’s Meeting with Indonesian President-Elect Subianto

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today with Indonesian Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto in Jordan.  Secretary Blinken congratulated Defense Minister Subianto again for his victory in Indonesia’s recent elections and reiterated the United States’ commitment to implementing the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.  The Secretary thanked the Defense Minister for Indonesia’s support for the proposal to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and secure the release of all hostages. The Secretary and the Defense Minister discussed how the proposal would benefit both Israelis and Palestinians alike.
