Designating Hamas Cyber and UAV-Unit Operatives
Operatives of terrorist group Hamas have used information warfare and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to facilitate terrorist violence across multiple fronts. In coordination with our international partners, the United States is today taking action against Hamas by targeting four Gaza- and Lebanon-based leaders of the terrorist group’s cyber and UAV operations.
The United States will continue to target Hamas’s destabilizing attempts to launch terrorist attacks, as well as to disrupt Hamas terrorists wherever they operate, including across cyberspace.
The Department of the Treasury actions were taken pursuant to Executive Order 13224, as amended. For more information on today’s action, see Treasury’s press release.
