Bolivia National Day – United States Department of State

On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of the Plurinational State of Bolivia on the 198th anniversary of its independence on August 6.

On this date, we celebrate the dedication of Bolivians to building a more democratic, just, and inclusive society.  The United States and Bolivia enjoy strong ties—ties that are rooted in friendship and a deep admiration for each other’s cultures.  We remain committed to strengthening those bonds in partnership with the Bolivian people.

I wish all Bolivians a happy Independence Day.
