On behalf of the United States of America, I would like to congratulate the people of Benin on marking 63 years of independence.
On this national day, we reaffirm the historical bonds between the United States and Benin. Our longstanding partnership is based on our mutual interest in democracy, maintaining regional security, and promoting economic growth. The United States will continue to stand with Benin to promote our shared values.
I extend to all Beninese my best wishes for health and prosperity in the year ahead.
