Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino yesterday in Washington, D.C.  The Secretary and the Foreign Minister reaffirmed the strength of the bilateral relationship between the two countries and explored how the United States and Argentina can increase cooperation to build a safer, more democratic hemisphere.  Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Mondino discussed how economic reforms should create increased opportunities for the Argentine people and protect the most vulnerable.  Secretary Blinken commended Argentina for its leadership, including its commitment to Ukraine, and to the promotion of human rights in the Western Hemisphere.  Advancing our cooperation in the energy and critical minerals sectors, Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Mondino reaffirmed their intent to hold an energy security dialogue.  The Secretary also thanked Minister Mondino for Argentina’s commitment to join the Minerals Security Partnership Forum.

To further advance our partnership, Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Mondino signed a Framework of Understanding that reestablishes a bilateral High-Level Dialogue.  This framework will foster increased cooperation on key issues such as trade, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.  By aligning our efforts, both nations can build a more resilient and prosperous future for our citizens.
