Assistant Secretary O’Brien’s Travel to Slovakia and Austria

Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs James C. O’Brien will travel to Bratislava, Slovakia and Vienna, Austria December 1-5While in Bratislava, he will meet with Slovak officials, including Prime Minister Robert Fico, Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár, Defense Minister Robert Kaliňák, and Speaker of Parliament Peter Pellegrini on strengthening bilateral relations and continued support for Ukraine.  He will also attend the GLOBSEC Château Béla Central European Strategic Forum and meet with high-level European officials and non-governmental organizations to discuss Central European and Western Balkan policies.  In Vienna, Assistant Secretary O’Brien will lead the U.S.-Austria Strategic Dialogue and meet with Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg.
