TAG Cyber, a leading cybersecurity research and advisory firm, announced the release of its 2023 Q2 edition of the TAG Cyber Security Annual, which focuses on the theme of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The edition features an eye-opening cover statement that declares “AI will be the end of cybersecurity (as we know it),” a position taken by Dr. Edward Amoroso, the founder and CEO of TAG Cyber.

The publication’s feature article, written by Dr. Amoroso, delves into the potential impact of AI on the cybersecurity landscape, highlighting how AI-driven cyberattacks and AI-assisted defensive techniques will soon become the new norm.

In addition to Dr. Amoroso’s article, the TAG Cyber Security Annual’s 2023 Q2 edition features several other thought-provoking pieces, including a deep-dive into a NIST framework that Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) will want to study. The edition also provides an update on the status of legislation that addresses AI dangers, along with an exploration of the challenges and opportunities of making the most of AI in smart cities and automated vehicles.

Moreover, the edition addresses the critical question of how humans will work side by side with AI in the uncertain future, exploring the challenges and opportunities of integrating AI into the workforce. The publication’s contributors are seasoned industry experts who share their perspectives, expertise, and advice on the topic of AI in cybersecurity.

According to Dr. Amoroso, “AI is set to disrupt the cybersecurity industry in a big way, and organizations must be prepared to deal with the inevitable. Our 2023 Q2 edition of the TAG Cyber Security Annual provides valuable insights into how AI is changing the game for cybersecurity professionals.”

Global Markets Report Highlights Optical LAN’s Market Growth

Global Markets Report Highlights Optical LAN’s Market Growth

APOLAN, the nonprofit organization advocating for the education and global adoption of Optical Local Area Networks, today announced findings from the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) Optical LAN Global Markets Report. The research, commissioned by APOLAN, examines Optical LAN market forecasts by region, verticals, project size, type and application, and system components/powering options.

“Our latest report provides an external and independent view of the Optical LAN market and details its expansion in recent years,” said Martin Chiesa, BSRIA Senior Consultant. “We are witnessing growth coming from several market segments that previously were not as relevant as they are now. This is an undoubtable promising sign for the future of Optical LAN.”

Highlights from the Optical LAN Global Markets Report include:

  • Expected market contraction brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic was much milder than anticipated, followed by a more vigorous than predicted market recovery.
  • The Optical LAN market fragmentation has increased. Three years ago, the top three market segments accounted for 80 percent of total Optical LAN sales. Today, the top three segments account for less than half of the market.
  • New standards allowing for the increased bandwidth and the development of Optical LAN Software Defined Networks are two key elements contributing to projections of rapid Optical LAN growth in the coming years.
  • While Optical LAN sales growth declined in Africa and Oceania in 2022, growth soared in Asia and significantly expanded in North, South and Central America.

The BSRIA Optical LAN Global Markets Report, commissioned by APOLAN, is the Optical LAN industry’s most accurate research report. It is conducted every two years to gather data from Optical LAN world leaders, including APOLAN members, manufacturers, distributors, integrators and consulting companies.

The report is available as a benefit of APOLAN membership or for purchase by nonmembers. APOLAN will host a BSRIA Optical LAN Global Markets Report webinar, presented by report author Martin Chiesa from BSRIA on May 24, 2023, to share highlights of the report’s findings.

About APOLAN: APOLAN is a nonprofit organization that is driving adoption and educating the market about the technical and economic advantages of Optical LAN technology. Through its membership, which is comprised of manufacturers, distributors, integrators and consulting companies actively involved in the marketplace, the association hopes to help designers, engineers, architects, building owners, CIOs and IT departments implement and successfully use optical networks. For more information, visit apolanglobal.org.

About BSRIA: BSRIA is a nonprofit member-based association founded in the UK in 1955, providing consultancy, testing, instrumentation and research, specialized in building services and the construction industry. BSRIA’s mission is to make buildings better through a vast range of services, including technical advice and investigation, information, testing, construction compliance, instrumentation and market research and consultancy. For more than two decades BSRIA has been following the structured cabling markets for LAN and data centers, and in 2011 the association published its first Optical LAN report.
