Under Secretary Allen’s Meeting with Serbian President Vucic

Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy Liz Allen met today in Belgrade, Serbia, with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.  They discussed global issues and Serbia’s progress towards greater integration with the EU, including through the Western Balkans Growth Plan.  Under Secretary Allen underscored the importance of continued progress towards the normalization of relations with Kosovo through the EU-facilitated Dialogue.  She emphasized the importance of continued cooperation to counter threats to European and regional stability, such as Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the Kremlin’s efforts to spread disinformation.  The Under Secretary also highlighted opportunities to strengthen cultural and educational ties between the Serbian and American people, including through the newly announced American Resource Center opening in Belgrade in 2025.
