The U.S. Department of State Showcases International Education at 2024 EducationUSA Forum
In support of the U.S. government’s commitment to international education, the U.S. Department of State is hosting the 2024 EducationUSA Forum from July 30 to August 1, 2024, in Washington, D.C. The Forum marks the third anniversary of the issuance of the Joint State of Principles in Support of International Education, which affirmed the U.S. government’s commitment to the robust exchange of students, researchers, scholars, and educators, along with broader international education efforts between the United States and other countries to strengthen collaboration and relationships between current and future leaders in many fields.
The Forum brings together approximately 500 U.S. higher education professionals from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, EducationUSA experts from around the world, and U.S. and foreign government officials. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. National Science Foundation, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology as well as the U.S. Department of State are participating in expert panels, in addition to alumni of the Department’s Community College Administrators Program, providing a unique opportunity for U.S. higher education representatives to engage with global experts in vocational-technical education and workforce development.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of EducationUSA, the U.S. Department of State’s global network of over 430 educational advising centers. EducationUSA centers provide accurate, comprehensive, and current information on the U.S. higher education system to prospective international students, foreign governments, and educational institutions in more than 175 countries and territories. Over the past 25 years, EducationUSA has stimulated and responded to student interest in U.S. study around the world, with over one million international students studying in the United States today.
