Secretary Blinken’s Call with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali al-Yahya

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali al-Yahya. The Secretary and Foreign Minister discussed ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and secure the release of all hostages. The Secretary thanked the Foreign Minister for Kuwait’s constructive role in getting humanitarian assistance into Gaza and discussed continued measures to ensure more humanitarian aid reaches those in need. They also discussed plans for post-conflict governance, security, and reconstruction.

The Secretary and the Foreign Minister agreed on the need to prevent further escalation and to expand bilateral cooperation in the interest of regional peace and stability.
