Republic of the Congo National Day
On the 64th anniversary of your independence, the United States congratulates the Congolese people and President Denis Sassou N’Guesso on the country’s National Day.
From serving as a champion for conservation of the globally vital Congo Basin to promoting peace in Libya and across Africa, the Republic of the Congo remains a valued partner of the United States. I look forward to our two countries working together to strengthen maritime coordination in the Gulf of Guinea, enhance the sustainability and protection of the Congo Basin for the benefit of future generations, and promote the improved governance that will drive investment in the Republic of the Congo.
On behalf of the United States, I extend my best wishes to the Republic of the Congo for a peaceful and prosperous future that benefits all Congolese people.
