On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Mexico as you celebrate more than two hundred years of independence.
As we mark the bicentennial of diplomatic relations between the United States and Mexico, we are reminded of our important and extraordinary relationship as neighbors, friends, and partners. Our enduring partnership has empowered our great nations to make our region safer and more prosperous, address the root causes of migration, increase enforcement along our shared border, and advance innovation and economic dynamism in North America.
Our interconnected history, people, and culture allow our two countries to flourish together. I extend my continued best wishes to the people of Mexico on the anniversary of Mexico’s independence.
