Malawi Independence Day – United States Department of State

On behalf of the United States of America, please accept my best wishes as the people of Malawi commemorate Independence Day on July 6.

The U.S.-Malawi partnership is an anchor for peace and stability, rooted in shared democratic values and a commitment to a healthier, more prosperous future. Malawi has shown remarkable resolve and tireless international leadership in the face of global challenges. The United States looks forward to continuing our close cooperation with Malawi on empowering sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction, defending human rights, responding to climate change, and delivering on commitments outlined at the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington, DC.

The people of the United States wish Malawians everywhere a very happy 59th Independence Day.
