Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma met today in Kyiv, Ukraine with senior Ukrainian officials.  His meetings with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko, and other senior officials reinforced ongoing U.S. support for Ukraine’s economic recovery and resilience.  They also discussed extraordinary revenue acceleration loans and emergency energy needs.  Deputy Secretary Verma additionally met with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine to discuss expanding war risk insurance for Ukraine, boosting private sector investment, and strengthening Ukraine’s defense industrial base.  Underscoring the importance of the private sector to Ukraine’s economic recovery, senior representatives of several U.S. private companies joined Deputy Secretary Verma in Kyiv.
