Deputy Secretary Verma Travels to Charleston

Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma will travel to Charleston, South Carolina September 25.

In Charleston, Deputy Secretary Verma will meet with Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, local officials, students, and community leaders to promote ways in which the State Department delivers for the people of South Carolina. At The Citadel, he will encourage students to pursue careers in foreign affairs while highlighting the State Department’s desire to hire employees from diverse and varied backgrounds.

Deputy Secretary Verma will also visit Department facilities in North Charleston with Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to discuss the Department’s efforts to reduce processing times for passports and to explore ways to improve services provided to South Carolinians.
