Counselor Chollet’s Travel to Indonesia and Philippines
Counselor Derek Chollet will travel to Indonesia and the Philippines July 13-17.
In Jakarta, Counselor Chollet will accompany Secretary Blinken and other senior U.S. officials at the annual U.S.-ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, and ASEAN Regional Forum July 13-14.
The Counselor will then visit Manila July 15-17 to consult with our Philippine allies on a range of bilateral and regional priorities, including opportunities to increase economic cooperation between the United States and the Philippines, bolstering deterrence, and addressing the ongoing crisis in Burma.
While in the Philippines, the Counselor will meet with Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique Manalo and National Security Advisor Eduardo Año. He will also engage with civil society and review the latest conditions in the South China Sea.
