Assistant Secretary Witkowsky and Ambassador-at-Large Rao Gupta’s Travel to Papua New Guinea and Australia

Assistant Secretary of the State Department Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations Anne A. Witkowsky and U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Dr. Geeta Rao Gupta will travel jointly to Papua New Guinea and Australia from April 26 to May 10.

In Papua New Guinea, Assistant Secretary Witkowsky and Ambassador-at-Large Rao Gupta will meet with government representatives, civil society and private sector stakeholders, and women-led organizations to discuss mutual priorities related to the U.S. Strategy to Prevent Conflict and Promote Stability and opportunities to advance Women, Peace, and Security and address gender-based violence.

In Australia, Assistant Secretary Witkowsky will lead a delegation composed of Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Dr. Rao Gupta and Deputy Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Aaron Keyak to attend sessions at the International Atrocity Prevention Working Group Spring Meeting.  Ambassador Rao Gupta, joined by Assistant Secretary Witkowsky, will also lead U.S. participation in the second U.S.-Australia Bilateral Strategic Dialogue on Gender Equality.
