Assistant Secretary Toloui Travels to Japan and the Republic of Korea

Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Ramin Toloui will travel to Japan and the Republic of Korea, September 11 to 14. Assistant Secretary Toloui will meet with government, business, and academic partners to discuss strategies to deepen economic cooperation and strengthen commercial ties in the Indo-Pacific.

From September 11 to 12 in Tokyo, Assistant Secretary Toloui will meet with his Japanese government counterparts to discuss priorities for the G7, bilateral cooperation, and opportunities to strengthen global food security and supply chains, including in the semiconductor sector. With industry representatives and academia, he will exchange ideas about Japan’s role and opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region.

From September 13 to 14 in Seoul, Assistant Secretary Toloui will meet with government representatives and private sector partners to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation, investment, and building sustainable and secure supply chains, including in the semiconductor sector.

The Assistant Secretary’s visit to Japan and Korea reaffirms the United States’ commitment to working with our partners to respond to global challenges and bolster our collective economic interests and security.
