Americas Partnership Senior Officials Convene in Panama to Review Progress and Deepen Cooperation

Representatives from the 12 founding members of the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (Americas Partnership) gathered in Panama April 11, 2024, to review progress in advancing the commitments made by leaders at the inaugural Americas Partnership Leaders’ Summit on November 3, 2023.  In the face of 21st century economic challenges, partners agreed to promote greater economic competitiveness and integration, high-standard investment, and inclusive, sustainable prosperity that delivers for all.

Ambassador Lisa Kubiske, the U.S. senior official for the Americas Partnership, and Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, Kevin Sullivan, led the U.S. delegation. Panamanian Vice Minister Yill Otero joined U.S. officials in leading the conversation. Discussions focused on the short and long-term outcomes of the eight initial working groups—entrepreneurship, digital workforce development, clean hydrogen, rule of law, sustainable health infrastructure, sustainable food production, water and basic sanitation, and space.  Americas Partnership Foreign Affairs Council officials also prepared to report on our shared prosperity agenda to their ministers in the coming months.

The Americas Partnership founding countries are Barbados, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the United States, and Uruguay.
