Acting Deputy Secretary Nuland’s Meeting with Spanish Political Director Ardizone

Acting Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland met with Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Political Director Guillermo Ardizone García in Washington, DC.  The Acting Deputy Secretary and the Political Director condemned Hamas’s terrorist attack against Israel and emphasized the importance of engagement with regional leaders to secure the release of hostages, ensure humanitarian aid reaches Palestinian civilians, and prevent the spread of the Israel-Hamas conflict.  They also reaffirmed support for Ukraine in the face of Russia’s brutal and unprovoked war and discussed plans to assist Haiti through the Multilateral Security Support mission.
