Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna. The Secretary expressed his deep concern over the events unfolding in Niger and the detention of democratically elected President Bazoum. They discussed the urgency of efforts to restore constitutional order in Niger. The Secretary underlined the strong role that Niger has had in promoting peace and security in West Africa.
