The United States commends the people of Panama who exercised their free will and voice, as well as the work of the Organization of American States’ electoral observers. The United States deeply values its relationship with the Republic of Panama, which has flourished for over 100 years, underpinned by strong economic, educational, and familial ties.
Looking ahead, the United States will continue to work with Panama on our common goals of inclusive, sustainable economic growth, bolstering citizen security, and cooperatively curbing irregular migration through the Darien.
