Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Rao Gupta Travels to Brazil
U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Dr. Geeta Rao Gupta will travel to Brasilia, Brazil from October 10-11 to lead the U.S. delegation to the G20 Empowerment of Women Working Group Ministerial.
On October 10, Ambassador Rao Gupta will meet with government officials, parliamentarians, civil society, and local women leaders on U.S.-Brazil efforts to promote gender equality.
On October 11, Ambassador Rao Gupta will participate in the G20 Empowerment of Women Working Group Ministerial meeting to advance U.S. gender equality priorities, including promoting women’s economic security by supporting the care economy, bridging the gender digital divide, and increasing women’s labor force participation; supporting women and girls’ leadership in addressing the climate crisis; and preventing and responding to gender-based violence.
