Switzerland plans to allocate nearly $6 billion for Ukraine’s recovery
Switzerland plans to allocate about 5 billion Swiss francs (approximately $5.8 billion) to support Ukraine’s reconstruction projects until 2036. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal after a meeting with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.
Shmyhal recalled that it was in Lugano, Switzerland, that the foundation for Ukraine’s post-war recovery was laid. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the active support of Switzerland, in particular for the appointment of a special representative for the restoration of Ukraine.
“We look forward to the active participation of Swiss companies in the reconstruction of Ukrainian regions, as well as a visit of a delegation of Swiss companies to Ukraine in 2025, which will open up new opportunities for cooperation and investment,” Shmyhal said.
In addition, the parties discussed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s election plan. The Ukrainian prime minister thanked Switzerland for its support of the peace formula, solidarity and humanitarian assistance.
