Slovakia National Day – United States Department of State
On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my best wishes to the government and people of Slovakia as you celebrate your 32nd national Constitution Day.
The United States has long supported freedom, human rights, and rule of law for the Slovak people. With the ratification of the Slovak Constitution and independence, we were delighted to welcome Slovakia into the community of democratic nations. Over 32 years, Slovakia’s journey from fledgling democracy to strong NATO Ally and EU partner has been nothing short of remarkable.
Our nations are bound together by a shared commitment to democratic ideals, bolstered further by the deep ties that connect our people. On this firm foundation, we look forward to working together to advance the mutual prosperity of our nations, upholding democratic values, and defending the peace and security of Ukraine and Europe.
Congratulations on your Constitution Day. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship in the years ahead.
