U.S. Department of State Announces 120 IVLP Alumni Impact Award Grants
The U.S. Department of State announces 120 small grant awards to recent International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumni from 101 countries. Projects supported through the 2024 IVLP Impact Awards will address key U.S. and partner nation foreign policy priorities, including promoting cybersecurity and technological innovation, countering disinformation, advancing climate solutions, supporting democratic governance, and more. Selected exchange alumni recipients will receive up to $5,000 each to implement their projects. Since the IVLP Impact Award initiative’s launch in 2022, nearly 500 IVLP alumni around the world have received IVLP Impact Award grants and implemented projects inspired by their exchange experience in the United States to effect positive changes at home.
The IVLP is the Department’s premier professional exchange program, bringing current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields to the United States to experience American culture and society firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with American counterparts. Through small grants, the IVLP Impact Awards initiative enables recent IVLP exchange alumni to design and implement innovative projects that address challenges and promote opportunities in their home communities all over the world.
The IVLP Impact Awards are an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and are supported in implementation by Meridian International Center.
