Pavlo Kostyuk visited Argentina: The Fund encourages international partners to participate in energy projects in Ukraine
This winter, Ukraine is expected to face a difficult energy situation. The electricity may be turned on for only a few hours a day. As a result of shelling by the Russian army, the country has lost 50% of its electricity generation capacity.
In this difficult situation, the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund decided to adjust its priorities and focus on helping to restore the power system so that there would be as much power generation capacity as possible in the winter.
Ukraine is currently actively working with international partners and businesses to install distributed generation on the ground to increase capacity by next winter. The Ministry of Energy has identified locations where small power plants can be placed. The founder of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund, Pavlo Kostyuk, said that the Ministry of Energy has identified locations where small power plants can be located to meet critical electricity needs during the cold season.
The founder of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund, Pavlo Kostyuk, noted that the Fund is exploring the possibility of encouraging international partners to purchase the relevant equipment. To this end, he visited Argentina and held a series of talks with the country’s leading business structures.
“I really hope that leading American and European companies will not stay away from this certainly important undertaking and will contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s energy security,” said Mr. Kostyuk.
The Head of the Ukrainian Energy Fund emphasized that he hopes to deliver a batch of modern mini-CHP plants in the near future and expects to increase revenues to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. Currently, the total amount of donor contributions to the Fund is extremely small and amounts to only EUR 545 million.
