Under Secretary John Bass’s Travel to Ukraine and Germany

Under Secretary John Bass was in Kyiv, Ukraine met with senior Ukrainian government officials to underscore the United States’ enduring support for Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in the face of Putin’s brutal aggression.  While in Ukraine, Under Secretary Bass met with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin, Members of Parliament, and civil society.  They discussed the impact of new U.S. security and economic assistance, long-term security and other commitments, and ongoing work to bolster Ukraine’s recovery.  On June 22, Under Secretary Bass will be in Wiesbaden, Germany to meet and thank personnel from the Security Assistance Group-Ukraine command.
