Ukraine’s government announces the amount of external financing raised
Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has already attracted $11.8 billion in external financing, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
“We are strengthening the financial stability of the state,” the Prime Minister wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Shmyhal, Ukraine expects to receive
- receipt of 1.9 billion euros under the Ukraine Facility program;
- the allocation of $2.2 billion after the IMF Executive Board approves the fourth review of the Extended Fund Facility program.
Also, over the past week, partners have announced support for Ukraine’s energy system worth more than $1 billion. In particular:
- The United States is providing $500 million in additional energy assistance through USAID and redirecting another $324 million to restore energy infrastructure.
- Norway will make a $74 million contribution to Ukraine’s energy sustainability.
- The Government of Canada will invest $14.5 million in the Ukrainian energy sector.
