Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Davos, Switzerland. Secretary Blinken discussed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, including the lifesaving humanitarian work by UNRWA, the multilateral response to repeated Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, and rising gang violence in Haiti. The Secretary expressed his appreciation to Secretary-General Guterres on his efforts to address the numerous world challenges and acknowledged the partnership between the United States and the United Nations.
